Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr......

Well Steve and I went out to Nebraska to spend some time freezing our 'winners' off. I was going to write this big long story about how we saw all these deer and passed up a bunch of big tirty pointers but I just cannot tell a lie. I can say this though, it was tons of fun, and I really enjoy going back, spending time with the Shaffers and stealing stuff from their mini mart.... I was told to, I swear.
The weather was cold and the mornings early, but everytime I have a chance to spend time in the woods regardless of how early or cold, that is where you will find me.... until next time......

Roy says:
Well I will be going out to Nebraska on Thursday to deer hunt with ShitHead. Last year was fairly warm and dry, this year it looks like it will be a different story with some snow on the ground and it will be somewhere in the mid 20's most of the weekend. Last year I was skunked in Nebraska, but ShitHead killed a nice little doe, so I was able to live once again vicariously thru him. I am looking forward to getting out deer hunting as this will be my first time out this year after receiving many pics from friends of deer they have already harvested. Anyway, thought I'd post something for once... back with more after the hunt....

Rifle Season
So, thought this year I would be more choosey and wait for a bigger deer rather than take one early. Didn’t work out so well the first weekend. I had some good shots at some smaller bucks, but held fast to my plan. Second weekend I was ready to shoot the first decent buck. This one showed a lo9t of ground shrinkage, but the meat is about as good as it gets. So I got that going for me. Still have the muzzie season to look for a bruiser.
Shot was around 100-125 yards, walking (both the deer and I). Shot placement was about 6 inches back of where I would prefer, but lots of vital damage and a quick end.
Deer season is beginning to affect me differently than it has in the past. Someday I’ll discuss, but not right now.
